Harris Co. Pct. 4 is considering a grant application in April, 2022 to obtain funding to construct this 3.15 mile trail extension that would include connections to the new Houston Community College & University of Houston Katy campuses, Katy Asia Town, the METRO Grand Parkway Park & Ride as well as several other destinations in the area.  This would connect to the existing Mason Creek trail near Rudy's BBQ, near I-10 & Mason Rd. with over 30 miles of connected and continuous trails, including George Bush Park, Terry Hershey & Cullen Park.  The trail would include underpasses of I-10 & Colonial Pkwy and two bridges over Mason Creek.  Starting at the south side of I-10, the trail would follow Mason Creek northwest to the new HCC campus, then jog south to the north side of Colonial Pkwy, continue west, then run NW of the H Mart and south along the west side of the Grand Pkwy/99 to the METRO park & ride.  The map in this petition shows the proposed trail route in red.
