Plastic remains in our environment for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years affecting people, nature and animals. While enjoying our lives and going on vacations to the beach, no one cares how the litter we throw can affect the animals. Millions of tons of waste are floating on the ocean surface.

Animals either get entangled with plastic or consume it. Either of them may prove lethal. It is not just sea animals but animals on land too. Throwing just plastic or any non-biodegradable waste on the roads leads to it either polluting nature or getting ingested by a stray.

We started using plastic so that packaging and a few other things could be made easier for us. When we started using plastic, none of this was expected, but now we’re using plastic for everything. Yes, it has undoubtedly made our lives easier apart from that, it has impacted the environment heavily. Animals- whether they be on land or water are dying because of plastic. One act of selfishness from our side is affecting the whole environment. Do you think it is worth making human lives easier when other creatures are dying because of it?

Let’s pledge and promise ourselves that we’ll reduce the use of single-use plastic. That all of us will reuse and recycle bottles, boxes, bags and other items made of plastic. Replace items made of plastic with other materials like using cloth bags instead of plastic ones, using steal tiffins instead of the ones made of plastic. 

If all of us contribute to this cause, it is only then we can look forward to a plastic-free world. Small changes eventually add up to huge results.
