Why this petition matters

We are concerned about the rise in deaths of males aged 15-19 since May 2021. We call for an immediate and urgent investigation into the cause.

Why is this important?

The ONS have confirmed a statistically significant increase in mortality of young males since May 2021. Sajid Javid needs immediately to explain why he and his advisors at JCVI and MHRA have confidence that this can be ignored.

The ONS claimed in court that there were 65 extra deaths in young males above the normal average which equates to 2 deaths per week each week between 1st May and 24th December 2021. The ONS say that more than one third of deaths will not have been registered yet meaning the actual figure could be at least 3 per week. Their own published data puts the figure at 96 extra deaths which would be 3 extra per week or 4.5 once the lag in registrations is included.  In the same period, there were just 2 deaths registered in the same age group recorded as ‘involving’ Covid.

An open letter to Sajid Javid, Chris Whitty, Patrick Vallance and relevant public health bodies has been signed by over 80 scientists and health professionals, demanding there be an urgent investigation.

Deaths which were thought to be unnatural would have been referred to the coroner for further investigation and may not yet be registered. The fact a signal is evident in those deaths that have been registered is therefore of immense concern. The potential signal is strong enough that urgent investigations should commence immediately to rule out a preventable cause.

We call on Sajid Javid and his advisors to urgently and thoroughly investigate these deaths.
