Residents in the West Ridge community were surprised to learn of the pending sale of the old Northtown Library on California Avenue.  WRCO (the West Ridge Community Organization) was strongly disappointed with the lack of transparency, communication and community involvement in the sale of a City owned building.

WRCO is proposing Alderman Silverstein institute a process or establish a committee to advise her on matters of zoning, land use and development.  Most wards in the City have procedures in place to involve their community's residents before development decisions are made.
