As you are probably already aware, there is a move in place to ban all lead contained in rifle, shotgun and airgun ammunition which with no other viable option currently available and ammunition already currently in short supply, could be disastrous to the shooting sports. Firearms such as the popular 22 rimfire would be practically redundant and ammunition costs for other calibres would of course spiral if you could even get any! As many deerstalkers have already found, lead free ammunition does not appear to be as effective and in some cases as accurate as lead based ammunition and the use of such current alternatives would be practically useless for any form of long range shooting. This latest move to bring further restrictions to our sport will have much further reaching consequences than it might first appear and could well bring about an end to shooting sports.
