Food delivery riders in the gig economy experience widespread abuse. This problem is rooted in the lack of respect towards workers. From low earnings, no security of tenure, no benefits, and other such manifestations. Instead of taking appropriate action, platform companies answer riders, who call for respect for their rights, with suspensions and terminations.

Facing this situation, RIDERS-SENTRO finds no choice but to continue our campaign to advance the full respect and recognition of riders’ rights across all platforms. To this end, we call on our legislators to pass the Freelance Protection Bill that includes the proposals of Senator Risa Hontiveros, and the Magna Carta for Delivery Riders. We also call on the customers — to whom we deliver food, to support their delivery riders.
