Alors que depuis deux ans une coalition de plusieurs collectifs, d’ONG et de citoyen·nes proteste contre l'implication de TotalEnergies dans les 20 km de Bruxelles en tant que partenaire officiel, l'organisation a décidé de renouveler son contrat avec la multinationale pétrogazière.

Les activistes mobilisé·es depuis deux ans refusent qu’une place aussi importante soit encore accordée aux entreprises fossiles dans le cadre d’un événement public et familial de ce genre. L’organisation des 20 km de Bruxelles a cependant délibérément décidé, malgré la forte mobilisation citoyenne et associative, de renouveler son partenariat avec TotalEnergies. 

Il est par ailleurs à préciser que ce partenariat a maintenant lieu de manière cachée. En effet, il est nécessaire de se rendre dans l’onglet « partenaire énergétique » du site pour constater un renouvellement du contrat entre les 20 km de Bruxelles et TotalEnergies et non plus dans « partenaires principaux ». 

Le précédent contrat entre les 20 km de Bruxelles et la multinationale se terminait en 2023. La présence de TotalEnergies en 2024 est donc un choix délibéré de l’organisation malgré deux ans de pression citoyenne et les multiples scandales fortement médiatisés incriminant TotalEnergies.

Alors signons pour demander la fin de ce partenariat et de cette visibilité pour une entreprise telle que TotalEnergies dans un événement sportif et familial.

Een coalitie van groepen, NGO's en burgers protesteert al twee jaar tegen de betrokkenheid van TotalEnergies als officiële partner bij de 20 km van Brussel, maar de organisatie heeft besloten om haar contract met de multinationale olie- en gasmaatschappij te verlengen.

De activisten, die al twee jaar campagne voeren, weigeren om fossiele brandstofbedrijven zo'n belangrijke rol te laten spelen in zo'n openbaar, gezinsvriendelijk evenement. De organisatie van de 20 km van Brussel heeft echter bewust besloten om haar partnerschap met TotalEnergies te verlengen, ondanks de sterke mobilisatie van burgers en verenigingen. 

We moeten er ook op wijzen dat dit partnerschap nu op een verborgen manier gebeurt. Je moet namelijk naar het tabblad "energiepartner" op de site gaan om te zien dat het contract tussen de 20 km van Brussel en TotalEnergies vernieuwd is, en niet meer onder "belangrijkste partners" staat. 

Het vorige contract tussen de 20 km van Brussel en de multinational liep af in 2023. De aanwezigheid van TotalEnergies in 2024 is dus een bewuste keuze van de organisatie, ondanks twee jaar van publieke druk en de vele spraakmakende schandalen die TotalEnergies beschuldigen.

Laten we dus tekenen om te eisen dat er een einde komt aan dit partnerschap en aan deze zichtbaarheid voor een bedrijf als TotalEnergies in een sport- en familie-evenement.

A coalition of groups, NGOs and citizens has been protesting for two years against TotalEnergies' involvement as an official partner in the 20 km of Brussels, but the organisation has decided to renew its contract with the multinational oil and gas company.

The activists, who have been campaigning for the past two years, refuse to allow fossil fuel companies to play such an important role in such a public, family-friendly event. However, the Brussels 20km organisation has deliberately decided to renew its partnership with TotalEnergies, despite the strong mobilisation of citizens and associations. 

It should also be pointed out that this partnership is now taking place in a hidden manner. In fact, you have to go to the "energy partner" tab on the site to see that the contract between the 20 km of Brussels and TotalEnergies has been renewed, and no longer under "main partners". 

The previous contract between 20 km de Bruxelles and the multinational ended in 2023. TotalEnergies' presence in 2024 is therefore a deliberate choice on the part of the organisation, despite two years of public pressure and the many high-profile scandals incriminating TotalEnergies.

So let's sign up to demand an end to this partnership and to this visibility for a company such as TotalEnergies in a sporting and family event.
