Expose Bernard Chaney and shutdown the “Voice of Believers Christian Academy.” 

Believer's House Worldwide Ministries is a Norfolk; VA based church that is led by a man who has been accused of sexual misconduct in the past. Bernard Chaney, who claims to be a "bishop" "apostle" and " prophet" has used God to satisfy his carnal pleasures by preying on the church's congregation. In 2003, a former member filed a civil lawsuit alleging mental and sexual abuse, which publicized on the local NBC station. Chaney also oversees the church's daycare and academy. Chaney has recently been under private investigation for his crimes. Recently, a former member lost her daughter to domestic violence. While reading her daughter's diary, the former member received a shocking and disturbing revelation: her daughter accepted her abusive relationship because she had been abused at Believer's House Christian Academy. In the interest of bringing awareness to possible abuse at the academy, the revelation soon became public via social media. The response was overwhelming: dozens of former students of the academy stepped forward to also allege similar abuse.

This petition is also to expose the mental, spiritual, emotional, educational, physical and sexual abuse that happened to the students that went to the Voice of Believers Christian Academy which was created in Believer's House Worldwide Ministries.

We are also seeking to bring to your attention the neglect and lack of protection, for the children, by the principal, Darrell Jackson. Mr Jackson became the principal at VOBCA in 2005 and was still there in 2020 when the first protest began. (He has since left the church to start another church and hopes to open up another academy) There has been allegations, made by some of the students, that Darrell Jackson was well aware of the mistreatment of the children that went to the academy. There are also allegations that Darrell Jackson himself was part of the mistreatment by not standing up and protecting the children when incidents happened as well as he himself bringing division amongst the students. Because the academy was in the church certain "Church rules" had to be kept in the academy as well. The rule that "leadership" members/kids couldn't hang out with regular members/kids was definitely enforced. There has been several allegations of a older boy molesting younger boys and the school covered it up. This incident happened several times. The children that witnessed this was told that if they spoke on it they would go to hell. Children were not being taught properly with the necessary curriculum. Most of the time the teachers were so tired that some even fell asleep in class and could not properly teach the children. Most of the students that left wind up having to be put back a grade or two because they were academically behind in public school. As time went on there was not a proper menu/diet offered for lunch. There has been stories of having to order pizza or serve chicken nuggets. One young lady stated that she was only given rice. We know that Bernard Chaney had free reign over the school. He was able to come in and tase, slap, belittle and speak to the children any kind of way whenever he wanted to. If a child or children had witnessed something they were told that they would be cursed with the curse if they told anybody. It has been said that Bernard Chaney would tell certain children not to talk to other children, he would tell certain boys not to talk to certain girls, he would make certain young ladies feel bad about the complexion of their skin. There was even a statement made that he had told one child that another child had AIDS. We know for a fact that that's what he would say to certain church members so that they wouldn't talk to other church members. Bernard Chaney has been seen tasing some of these students and finding it funny as if it was a game. The PRINCIPAL, DARRELL JACKSON, did nothing to stop this. Some teachers have come forward and admitted that they were not educationally qualified to teach. Others have even made statements about the things that they have witnessed while teaching at the academy. They have expressed their regret in not standing up sooner. There were some teachers who were not involved nor was aware of the abuse.
It is disappointing that Bernard Chaney and Darrell Jackson has yet to come forth to speak on the abuse of the children. Although it is seen, on a Rhoda Young Live, where Mr. Jackson is heard saying that what we are trying to do is "trash". We have seen Mr. Jackson speak at a T.E.A.C.H graduation in which he was once president of this Homeschool organization. We have seen posts that Mr Jackson is honored to be an assistant coach of Regent University Basketball. But we have yet to see Mr. Jackson stand up and speak out about his neglect in this situation and take responsibility for the abuse and cover-ups that took place at Voice of Believers Christian Academy while he was the principal there.
