As a kid and young adult, Shelton skatepark was somewhere to get rid of stress after a long day. The park had various obstacles that helped improve many individuals skateboarding. Many memories were created here, I have numerous stories about things that happened at the park as do many other people.

Bringing back the Shelton park will impact the youth significantly. The town is constantly growing and there are many new families here. This gives kids an opportunity to learn a new sport. When you skateboard, you use a lot of energy. Learning to skate can lead to burning more calories and even lead to a healthier lifestyle. Skateboarding helped shape my life and made me into the person I am today. Not everyone is meant for football, baseball etc. 

The space under the bridge is still empty after the bridge re-construction. I skate by it every week. However, the old equipment was in semi rough shape. I would like something similar in this space, the mini ramp and pyramid would be essential. If that fails, a concrete skatepark downtown would be phenomenal. A concrete park is affordable, low maintenance, and could be put basically anywhere. To put one on the slab downtown would be perfect.
