Why this petition matters

Started by Kai Love

While traveling in Mexico, I found myself in a situation where I was held against my will in terrible conditions. The owners of what is supposed to be a place of recovery kept me and others locked in a bedroom of multiple bunk beds for sometimes over twenty hours in a day. They had locks placed on the outside of the doors and chains on the front gate that were in place to keep us from accessing freedom. There were only two toilets in the room. Lack of plumbing and water from the staff to flush the toilets meant we had to sit in each other's excretions as well as smell them throughout the day/night. There were no sinks to wash our hands and provisions weren't made otherwise. We were allowed to 'shower' every few days and this consisted of a bucket filled with water. While locked up in the bedroom, we weren't given enough drinking water and were forced to share one drinking cup. Our diet consisted of mostly beans and fried tortilla chips. I was kept from contacting family and I witnessed others being treated the same. I have reached out to the Embassy and am in the process of pursuing justice for not only myself, but for the women who are still living in these conditions but I am unable to do this alone as I am recovering physically and emotionally.

The name of the organization is Trad Centro, located in Baja California. The owners responsible for these horrific conditions are Antonio (Jose) Ramos and Yamile Granados Pacheco Ramos. The address of the organization is Calle tulipanes 300. It is located off dirt roads outside the central the city of Ensenada.

I detail more of my experience here:

The writing of my experience also contains a link to a personal campaign. There is no obligation to donate. If you are here for this campaign, please focus your efforts on helping the women that are still in these conditions. I am no longer in them and I am grateful for that.

If you have time, please reach out to Baja California authorities as well as the US Embassy or other advocates that you know who can assist in ensuring that the women who are still living in these conditions can be moved to a safe, healthy and loving environment. If you know someone with connections who would have more resources to navigate this, please take the time to share this campaign.
