For the last seven years, Dr. Santosh Kshirsagar has been successfully handling the responsibility of the In-Charge Dean at Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai. In this time, the institute has prospered to make itself known beyond the boundaries of the country. In an unexpected turn of events, he was replaced on 24th Nov 2023, Friday by Mr. Rajendra Giri from Nagpur.
In his time as the IC Dean, Dr. Santosh Kshirsagar successfully played a proactive and pivotal role in the grant for the De-Novo deemed to be university status for the institute. He tirelessly worked through days and nights of paperwork to expedite the process and proved himself worthy of the designation.
The formal board meeting for the formation and structuring of the university has been scheduled for the 4th of December 2023. At this critical juncture replacing him to bring in an unknown and uninformed person without giving any valid reason is clearly a calculated move. Also, three permanent faculty members out of the six present currently are retiring by February 2024. The absence of so many experienced faculty members and the replacement of the IC Dean will not serve the greater purpose of the institute. 
Should we protest against this undeniably unjustified action by the Higher and Technical State government of Maharashtra? They must accept the responsibility and correct this injustice!
