Why this petition matters

Started by Claudia Montoya

Dear fellow Canadians and compassionate individuals,

We come together with a shared belief in the principles of compassion, inclusivity, and unity . This petition calls for the Government of Canada to reconsider and reevaluate the applications of individuals who, despite their earnest efforts, met the eligibility criteria and applied to the Humanitarian Pathways Program for Colombians, Haitians, and Venezuelans, before its closing date on December 30th, 2023, but were denied entry into the program, without a clear explanation, due to the program reaching its capacity before the closing date.

Background:

The Humanitarian Pathways Program for Colombians, Haitians, and Venezuelans symbolizes hope and the opportunity for individuals to reunite with their families in Canada. Unfortunately, a number of applicants, who meticulously followed the application process, met all eligibility requirements, and applied before the program's closing date on December 30th, 2023, faced rejection solely because the program had reached its maximum capacity. These individuals invested significant time, energy, and financial resources in preparing their applications, only to be turned away, causing a toll of emotional distress and confusion among our community.

Our Call to Action:

We, the undersigned, urge the Government of Canada to review and reconsider the applications of those who submitted their applications for the Humanitarian Pathways program before its closing date, but were refused processing of their applications  as the intake cap has been reached, without further explanation. By affixing your signature to this petition, you lend your voice to a collective plea for compassion and fairness. Your signature is not merely a formality but a powerful statement of support for those who seek  a chance to build their lives in Canada.

How Your Signature Matters:

Demonstrate Unity: A multitude of signatures showcases the unity of Canadians in support of humanitarian values and compassion for those in need.

Join Us. Stand with us in urging the Government of Canada to reevaluate the applications of these deserving individuals. Your signature is a crucial step toward fostering a society that values compassion, understanding, and the opportunity for a better life for all.

Together, let's make a difference. Let compassion prevail.
