Why this petition matters

Started by Dante Medori

As a concerned citizen, I firmly believe that the restoration of SEPTA's regional rail service to Quakertown is not only necessary but also beneficial for our community. The absence of this service has caused an increase in traffic congestion on The Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476) and Bethlehem Pike (PA-309), making daily commutes more challenging for many residents.

The reinstatement of this rail service would provide a much-needed alternative transportation option, potentially reducing the number of vehicles on these roads and thus easing traffic congestion. However, it is important to note that significant track work needs to be done and catenary must be strung before this can happen. Alternatively, SEPTA could consider purchasing Bombardier ALP-45DP Dual-Power Locomotives similar to those used by NJ Transit.

While I am not a resident of Quakertown myself, I understand the importance of efficient public transportation systems in fostering sustainable communities. Therefore, I urge everyone who values effective public transit solutions to support this cause.

Please sign this petition if you agree with the need for restoring SEPTA's regional rail service to Quakertown.
