Why this petition matters

Started by David Smith

The Monsal Trail is visited by over 300,000 visitors a year.

Last year the footbridge to access the trail  from Cressbrook was declared unsafe. It has been blocked off and people have been unable to use it since then.

Locals and visitors use this bridge for walking, running, cycling dog walking etc. It features in many guide books and walking guides. Without it people are forced to divert to Upperdale or Litton Mill.

We urge the P.D.N.P.A. to fund a replacement of this bridge. The Monsal Trail is an iconic part of the Peak District National Park, and all it's access points should be maintained.

If you sign this petition, it would be appreciated if you could say how you currently use the bridge, whether as a local or a visitor.
