We are saddened and distressed by a recent incident at RHAM high school where a noose was found. We feel for RHAM students, especially students of color, and their parents. A hanging noose is a symbol of hate and intimidation. The history it represents is horrific and tragic. It has no place anywhere, but the fact that it was in our school is heartbreaking ─ and a wake-up call for action. We want to make it known that hate has no home here in our community. 

We pledge to stand in solidarity with all our neighbors, to work together to make sure that EVERYONE feels safe and valued in our community, and to ensure that nothing like this happens again.
