Construct Two Additional Bridges in the Tri-Cities Metro Area

Construct Two Additional Bridges in the Tri-Cities Metro Area

The Issue

Tragedy hit close to home when a dear friend lost their life on I-182, forced to use this high-traffic freeway for a simple necessity like buying eggs from Costco. Their life may have been saved if they had the option to travel via a local route between Richland and Pasco, instead of relying on busy highways. Consequently, this petition advocates for the construction of two more bridges in the Tri-Cities Metro Area. One between Rd 100 in Pasco and Columbia Center BLVD in Richland, and another one between Williams BLVD in Richland and Burns Rd in Pasco.

The lack of these bridges has relegated our movements to always using I-182 and US-240, causing unnecessary traffic and introducing higher risk for accidents. Building these bridges is not only crucial for our safety but will also bring in state funding and provoke local economic growth. It is remarkable that no such connections already exist in our urban landscape.

As members of the Tri-Cities community, we need safer, quicker, and more flexible local commuting options. We must make a hustle for the changes we need for the welfare of all residents. Let's ensure that what happened to our friend doesn't happen to anyone else. Sign this petition as a call for safer travel options in our area.
