This is a petition to push back against the rewriting of New Zealand's history.

Iwi representatives from the Whanganui region are lobbying the Whanganui District Council to have New Zealand's oldest war memorial, the 158-year-old Weeping Woman, removed from its historic site. With no place of relocation provided, the fate of our nation's oldest war memorial remains unknown.

These Māori advocacy groups, along with their allies in Whanganui District Council and the mainstream media establishment, seek to rewrite our great country's history.  

Enough is enough! It is vital that we New Zealanders push back against the destruction of our heritage. If we are not the ones to do it, there will, eventually, be nothing left to save. 

Sign this petition, get involved, and honour the memory of those who gave their lives for New Zealand. 

Along with this petition, we will advocate for the mobilisation of peaceful community protest to encourage the reconsideration of this plan to remove and/or destroy 'The Weeping Woman' war memorial.
