The proposed Megasite runs along 2 miles of natural area along the Kalamazoo River

Of of the Family Farms to be destroyed by the Michigan Megasite

Protect Michigan's farmland by stopping the State of Michigan from putting an industrial Megasite (called the Michigan Megasite) on 1,900 acres of prime agricultural land, several historic farmsteads,  and undisturbed natural area located  along the Kalamazoo River just outside the historic town of Marshall, Michigan.

Michigan's greatest resources are water and it's agricultural land.  Industry should be located in vacant industrial areas within Michigan rather than destroying small family farms and way of life.  Protecting farmland and keeping it in the hands of local residents is crucial to our food security, our sound democracy and national security.

Farmland around the world is being lost at an alarming rate due to global warming (drought, fire, floods,

etc.) war, and for residential development  Family farms are becoming scarcer and scarcer as they are sold to big corporations, foreign countries.   Governor Whitmer and the State of Michigan are short-sided in their zeal to to destroy agricultural lands for industrial use.   Now more than ever we need to protect farmland to ensure that we can meet the needs of a ever growing population in our country and abroad.   Please protect this diminishing resource and support Michigan farmers by saying NO to the Michigan Megasite!

Please act now as the State of Michigan is asking for funds to be appropriated and seeks to purchase the property before the end of the year. Time is of the essence!!   If this property is sold for large scale manufacturing, the land and the way of life for people in the historic town of Marshall will be lost forever.
