If you are not aware, Stagecoach has been lowering amounts of buses being driven, and even withdrawing routes completely. Unfortunately, North Devon will be affected by this dramatic change, with the 5A/ 5B and 5C being withdrawn, which all start and finish at Exeter Bus Station  

5A service runs through Okehampton, Hatherleigh, North Tawton, Bow and Crediton. 

5B service runs through Barnstaple, Bideford, Great Torrington, Dolton, Winkleigh, North Tawton, and Crediton.

5C service runs through Chulmleigh, Chawleigh, Lapford, Eggesford, Morchard Road and Crediton.  

As many people rely on the 5B stagecoach bus service, it’s a real disaster that it is coming to a halt from 30th October, being fully withdrawn. 

The reason that this case is being fought, because the 5B is only one of two transport options that the citizens of North Devon’s have access to. Stagecoaches bus service travelled through many towns such as, Fremington, Barnstaple, Bideford, Dolton, Great Torrington and Winkleigh; so with this many towns being affected it is going to have a knock on effect for not only the public, but for individuals who use the 5B bus service to travel to work, University or College. Workers are using public transport more everyday as the price of fuel is through the roof, I’m sure that you could agree with me on this fact! 

With first hand experience, I personally know how much it will affect myself, as an Exeter College student. Usually I rely on the 5B bus service to get into Exeter in time for college and being able to return straight back to my home town at various times, without having to rely on extra transport to get home from the train station etc. 

The reason this petition was made, is to allow Stagecoach to see how the actuality of their changed bus routes, to the people don’t live close to the main city.
