In 1993, St. Louis has gotten rid of the Neoplan Metroliners and to many riders, that was a stupid thing to do.  The riders loved the high-back seats.  They were comfortable and very quiet.  When they ran, ridership was pretty high.  Yet, sometimes eventhough that some of them got bumped on to rush hour extensions of local routes and some were used during the midday hours for a special route called the Galleria Union Station often called the "Gus" bus.  Once they had vanished, ridership went down.  Newer motorcoach type buses now come equipped with wheelchair lifts that hide in the under floor luggage compartment and sometimes the wheelchairs are stowed away in the luggage compartments.  It is time we give passengers what they want.
