April 19, 2025 is the 14 Year anniversary of the release of MK9, a.k.a. Mortal Kombat (2011), which many people consider to be the best Mortal Kombat game of all time! Including myself.

However, it is almost impossible to play nowadays! You either have to have a physical copy of the game that released two console generations ago and is no longer in print, or download it on your PC thru "non-official channels". And even if you do that, the online servers are down, so you can only play it by yourself at home!

MK9 is a game that means a lot to me, personally. It was the game that ignited my love of this bloody franchise, and it's also the game that SAVED the franchise! If Mortal Kombat (2011) had failed, or not succeeded as well as it did, the entire franchise may have gone the way of so many other Midway properties and arcade classics. 

I wish that I could hop on this game every weekend and just play against randoms or friends online in Test Your Luck Mode. I wish I could share the experience of the 300 Tower with people who were in pre-school, or not born, when this landmark game was released initially.

And heck, if Capcom can re-release every version of Street Fighter 2 twice per console-generation, then I fail to see why we couldn't get a slightly polished version of this beloved game released to be playable on modern consoles and PC, to live on in perpetuity. 

This petition is to plead with Warner Bros. & Netherrealm Studios, the owners & developers of the Mortal Kombat franchise, to Up-Res or Remaster MK9 and re-release it on modern consoles, with online capabilities and all the DLC characters (if the guest characters are unable to be included, that is acceptable and not a deal-breaker).
