In July 2022, Hepburn Shire Councillors voted to sell Daylesford's iconic The Rex following a 4/3 decision. With the sale of our community asset now imminent, Hepburn Matters is calling upon Councillors to:

1. Favourably consider bids to purchase The Rex that include provision for community use of the building, especially a cinema; and
2. Ensure that the heritage of the building, as protected in the planning scheme, is preserved and that any proposed development in both Duke St and Vincent St does not exceed the height of current buildings in the central part of Vincent St, Daylesford.

Your support on the petition is much appreciated, and will help us better advocate to Hepburn Shire Council for community use and heritage protections as this iconic community asset comes onto the open market.
