Currently Walmart is the largest employer of those on welfare, unfortunately Walmart is also the largest employer of people who remain on welfare after being hired.

I propose that instead of Walmart and similar businesses getting tax breaks based on hiring welfare recipients, the tax breaks should be based off of the number of employees they raise out of poverty so they no longer have to depend upon welfare to survive.

Any business can hire someone and pay them less than a living wage, but Walmart and similar large volume businesses, have the resources to pay a living wage without affecting their bottom line. Which gets those people out of poverty, off welfare, and working towards goals like homeownership, paying for college, actually being able to thrive instead of barely survive.

So I challenge large businesses, congress, and the President to make it a requirement that employers raise employees out of poverty and offer healthcare inorder to get any incentive for hiring welfare recipients.
