All aptX Bluetooth audio codecs on Samsung Galaxy S devices
All aptX Bluetooth audio codecs on Samsung Galaxy S devices
Why this petition matters
Samsung should add the aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and aptX TWS+ Bluetooth audio codecs to their line of Galaxy S products.
With the removal of the headphone jack, especially on the Galaxy S line of products, it is unacceptable that Samsung does not offer the best Bluetooth audio codecs as a replacement. Since 2018, Samsung has omitted aptX HD from their devices and has failed to add support for aptX Adaptive and aptX TWS+.
A lot of people own wireless audio devices that support aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and/or aptX TWS+. Yet they are stuck using SBC, AAC or basic aptX.
The Galaxy S line phones and tablets are expensive products which should offer the best Samsung can offer.
Hardware is not a limitation as many non Snapdragon devices do offer the mentioned Bluetooth codecs. Many of these devices are also a lot cheaper than the Galaxy S. For example the budget Google Pixel a line of phones supports aptX HD. Samsung can and should add the aptX codecs via a software update and pay Qualcomm the license fee.
