Demanding Justice for Franklin Ramirez
Demanding Justice for Franklin Ramirez
Why this petition matters
This is Franklin Ramirez. He was a 27-year-old immigrant from Guatemala, a husband, father of two, and roofer in rural Arkansas. On New Year's Eve, Franklin was working and at one point he stepped away from the worksite and into the woods to use the restroom. He never returned back. His coworkers heard a gunshot and then discovered his dead body. He had been shot while using the restroom and killed by 52-year-old William Bettis.
Mr. Bettis told law enforcement that he had been hunting deer in the area. He allegedly mistook Franklin as a deer. It took 10 days to even arrest Bettis and he was charged with manslaughter. He already posted bail. He’s out and about, while Franklin’s family is left incomplete going into the new year because of Bettis. Franklin’s family is demanding justice. Mr. Bettis must be held accountable for his actions!!
Sign and share this petition if you believe that Franklin Ramirez’s family deserves justice by arresting and convicting William Bettis.
