Demand Airport Employees Be Accountable For Actions
Why this petition matters
On January 2023 in Mesa, Arizona, the Falcon Field Airport Director requested a Risk Assessment Report to host the Copperstate Fly-In's 50th Anniversary Aviation Exhibitors in the West World War II Hangar. The report's findings were shocking and deeply concerning. It revealed that the Airport Administration has a long history of mismanagement and nonobservance. This pattern has been ongoing for almost two decades in our community.
When these findings were reported to the City of Mesa, the Airport Director retaliated with a lockout of the facilities based on no defaults or violations of terms. The Assistant City Attorney had to request help from outside council, imposing significant legal fees on the Falcon Warbirds Foundation and Taxpayers. These fees are not due to fault or wrongdoing on our part but are instead covering up fallacious activities. Why are government employees able to access public funding for legal fees? These individuals are not financially accountable for their actions, and utilizing public funds to escape consequences is deplorable.
By signing this petition, you're sending a powerful message: Government workers are not above the law; they must be held accountable, not passing on the costs of irresponsibility and remissness to Taxpayers.
