An immune response to SARS-COV-2 can be developed from either receiving a COVID-19 vaccination, or from contracting the virus and developing antibodies naturally. At this time, Governments and Private Businesses are only accepting vaccine certificates as proof of some level of protection, and ignoring those who have developed antibodies naturally. 

Ichor is currently working with Mayo Clinic Laboratories to offer their SARS-COV-2 Semi-Quantitative Spike Protein Antibody Test to Ichor clients in Canada, which provides an antibody strength score out of 250. The test does not differentiate between vaccine induced antibodies or naturally developed antibodies. Our data on vaccinated vs unvaccinated status is based on voluntary confidential disclosure by our clients.

With over 1,000 data points to date, roughly 40% of unvaccinated Albertans are showing positive antibodies from recovering naturally from the virus. 

Logically, these individuals should have their antibody reports recognized as an alternative to vaccine certifications when requested by their employers, universities, or private businesses.

One example from the many of our clients in a similar situation is an 18 year old who may be prevented from playing university football because he is not vaccinated, yet has a full strength antibody test result from a natural infection. This is not logical nor right.
