An official of Russian Federation from St. Petersburg wants to limit the spread of the historical chronicle about the crimes of communism.

On April 27, 2018, the prosecutor's office of Kirov district of St. Petersburg, received a statement from the deputy head of the Kirovsky district administration, A.B. Antonets, in which he made a request asking to assess the content of the book “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” for signs of incitement to hatred or enmity. As a result, the prosecutor's office of St. Petersburg filed a lawsuit in the court of the Petrogradsky district. Preliminary hearing of the case took place on the 25th February, 2019. After March 4, the case was transferred to the jurisdiction of St. Petersburg, which unlawfully ruled in favor of the plaintiff’s claim.

“Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party”, a historical analysis of communism, has been recognized by the world’s community. The book was first published in November 2004 in The Epoch Times newspaper in Chinese language. Presently, this book has been translated into 32 languages and is being continuously reprinted in different countries of the world.

As far as the presentation of the historical reality, the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” is often compared to the “Black Book of Communism”, the first reference book on the crimes of communism in the world, published in Paris in 1997 by the ‘Robert Luffon’ publishing house. In the preface to the Russian edition of the book, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. A.N. Yakovlev, wrote: “By the standards of history, Russia is moving quickly towards the acquisition of freedom, this genuine ideology of man and his all-encompassing religion. But the path to the triumph of Russia's freedom can be interrupted on any given day, if the Bolshevik ideology of man-hatred and universal struggle is not outlawed, as well as organizations that profess violence, aggressive nationalism and national discord, racism, anti-Semitism, and chauvinism. Only by being cured from Bolshevism, can Russia count on today's and future health and well-being.”

Using an example of the formation and development of the Chinese Communist Party, the “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” exposes the true nature of the communist ideology, which is based on the incitement of hatred and enmity, which has a devastating effect on the consciousness of people and on society as a whole. Based on in-depth analysis of historical facts, the book proves that the entire history of communism was linked to wars, famine, bloodshed, terror and lies. At the same time, traditional culture and beliefs of people in different countries were mercilessly destroyed, public morality and human decency were distorted and undermined, resources were exhausted, and tens of millions of people were killed.

Today it is important more than ever to learn from our rich and dramatic history. Understanding the viciousness of the communist principles, is especially significant and relevant for younger people who have not witnessed the atrocities of the communist dictatorship. The crimes born of the communist ideology should never be repeated anywhere in the world.

The possible prohibition on dissemination of the “Nine Commentaries on Communist Party” will affect the constitutional rights of Russian people by infringing upon their right to receive information and thereby encroach on their democratic freedoms.
