HELP STOP THE ADULT GAMING CENTRE PROPOSED FOR THE CENTRE OF MONMOUTH TOWN!

We are concerned about the impact an adult gaming centre will have on Monmouth and the county as a whole. Monmouth is a beautiful historic market town.  It is the gateway to the Wye Valley and without doubt will increasingly become dependent on tourism and destination shopping and eating for its continued survival and growth.  As we emerge out of Covid, those of us who love living in or visiting Monmouth are committed to helping it thrive.  We are a community of young and old, residents and visitors – we deserve an environment which matches the reason we all live or visit Monmouth.

An adult gaming centre very clearly has the potential to be harmful to what Monmouth is and how Monmouth delivers for its people.  Our concern is that not only could an adult gaming centre severely damage Monmouth as a tourist or shopping and eating destination but it could seriously damage the fabric of the Monmouth community. We have a number of schools and many have concerns about who this gaming centre will really be targeting.

People live and visit Monmouth because of what it is – a historic market town embedded within the community.  What is right for maybe a seaside resort is not necessarily right for Monmouth Town, 

Having taken legal advice we also understand that an adult gaming centre will raise planning concerns not least given the architectural fabric of the town.

Over 100 people have objected to the planning application.
